# Macktez

> New York City IT consultancy and managed service provider (MSP) founded in 1996 by Noah Landow and Michael Horst. Executive-level IT strategy, infrastructure design and buildout, and ongoing managed IT services for organizations of all sizes. Initial assessments typically $3,000 to $5,000; hourly work $150 to $500 per hour on a sliding scale.

Macktez provides senior technical leadership and hands-on infrastructure work. We engage at the leadership level — translating business goals into technology decisions, building multi-year roadmaps, and designing the systems to carry them out — and we also design, install, and manage the infrastructure itself. In many engagements Macktez serves as fractional CTO or fractional CISO.

Macktez is a managed service provider (MSP): for most of our clients we are the primary MSP, the team running their technology day to day. Macktez Management provides managed identity, endpoint, network, server, backup, domain, and cybersecurity-awareness services, and Managed Support covers day-to-day help desk and user support. We can also serve as the senior layer above an existing internal IT team, and clients who prefer to run systems themselves get complete documentation and handoff instead.

Clients span creative firms, nonprofits, cultural institutions, finance, media, manufacturing, and healthcare. Engagements are conducted on New York City time; clients are often NYC-based, but Macktez works with organizations anywhere.
