Interesting new service from TMobile that let's you put a DLink WiFi router in your home and, using Unlicensed Mobile Access (UMA), connect and place calls using that instead of a cel tower. Would be intriguing for a place like Upstate or an apartment wit

Haven't posted a proper entry here in some time, but the Stain Teacup (Found via OL) resonates with my long-time interest in the role of wear/damage/time in design. My semi-senior thesis pointed out that an advantage of a traditional card catalog over (at that time) existing electronic replacements was the naturally occurring overlay of history/usage that dirt and grime create. In order words, when looking at a card catalog drawer (The actual thesis was actually printed on card and delivered in a found card catalog drawer.) one can quickly see what cards and sections have seen the greatest use, which are oldest, which are on one type of paper versus another. While this information is not properly structured (No taxonomies of card fraying or dirty fingers of which I am aware) it is nevertheless informative in (What I would argue is) an intuitive way.
