This list (from Emerson, via Kottke) of 102 movies that you should see echos a repeating conversation I've been having with with S that starts with [insert Name_of_Film here] and ends with me staring blankly back and saying "I haven't seen that. . ." So I was actually surprised how many of these I've seen (More than 40). Aguirre, the Wrath of God and Repulsion being two recently discussed ones I have not. A decade ago I saw Double Indemnity at an actual, tiny theater on Astor Place (now for stage, not film) and became fascinated by strike anywhere matches; used those for years instead of a lighter. Loved that film. . . . Now I think I've actually seen all of the ones I have starred. Everyone once and a while I get confused about wether I've actuall seen a film or just heard so much about it I think I have.
