Halloween. Dressed up as Danzig during the Misfits era. Two people saw the resemblance without any hints: Ethan and a stranger on Ave A Sun night. Nice.

Quite the bizarre inversion here: The little Bush White House has parodied itself by suing the Onion. Seriusly. I am not joking. Dixton (associate counsel to the president) sent them a Cease and Desist letter to stop using the presidential seal in their parody of the President's weekly radio address.

We had a tremendous view down the length of one of the canyons at the secret ice caves. The hike up had a lot of steep vertical but the payoff was huge. This was the second holy grail we found this weekend.

The trees and fog down below as viewed from the trail approaching Gertrude's Nose. Equally stunning: Looking northeast into the foggy, rainy distance. We got soaked to the bone but what a trememdous hike. I took a few movies too, one of the fog rolling by down below the ridge across golden, glittering trees (Higher quality version).

Second off, this one is safe for work and kids. And it too is likely to expire in a week or two so hit it soon. This is common to the last craiglsist-based entry (of 9/20) in that it appears to be a rather overly elaborate, roundabout means to an seemingly pretty simple means. But perhaps all the details/process/qualifications are somehow necessary to create just the right photograph. Or perhaps not: Wedding Date for Free.

Ah, Ev. . . A perfectly, concise, and random review of the Rubin Museum: Five Floors of Buddhist Artifacts. My favorite section is "Prurience."

I saw March of the Penguins with Sean a couple of weeks ago; it was beautiful but didn't take me away. I know you'e asking how that relates to my costume hunt (for Halloween)? Why with a Penguin Costume, of course. Not as many penguin options out there as one might think.

Dang. You can now buy/download TV shows in iTunes. Only a few series (all from ABC/Disney, interestingly), but this is a big deal. I would totally pay $1.99 for each Battlestar Galactica episode (available the day after it first airs). Some shows already available: Lost, Desperate Housewives, and Night Stalker.

Why I send my photos out for printing. Cheaper, longer lasting.

This healthily paranoid but a little shrill article on RFID ends with a great line: "What would happen if [the proposed RFID applications] were all implemented, without oversight or restraint? We'd then live in a world in which everything we own gossips about us behind our backs." Gossip is the right metaphor -- not inherently evil, but insidious and creepy.

If you liked Ender's Game then you really need Orson Scott Card's review of Serenity. A telling snippet: "This is the kind of movie that I have always intended Ender's Game to be (though the plots are not at all similar). And this is as good a movie as I always hoped Ender's Game would be. And I'll tell you this right now: If Ender's Game can't be this kind of movie, and this good a movie, then I want it never to be made. I'd rather just watch Serenity again."
