I know a few writers who work in cafes so this Kottke link to a space/company named Paragraph caught my eye. The idea is that you rent a desk and write there, just like hanging out and writing at Kavehaus/Pecon/Space Untitled, but with a monthly fee, a locker, presumably peace & quiet, and 24 hour access. Not sure that this would be any better than those cafes for the writers I know, but still an interesting parallel. And I've been thinking about those writers a lot lately.
