when my sister matched for derm, i remember feeling a bit surprised that a mysterious big computer brain somewhere took all these inputs and just plopped out a series of pronouncements, all without any clear transparency to the participants. it seemed like people would challenge the results if they weren't what was expected and yet apparently the system worked so well no one had cause to complain (or contest) the results. . . well, it would appear the same couldn't be said for urology this year. i wonder who makes this "match" software? do all specialties use the same kind? do most grow their own?
