my mobile reception, especially in my apt, suddenly got much better this weekend (or maybe last week when i was away); i have five bars everywhere now. the network name is also consistently cingular (used to be at&t) -- so, not that this story follows logically from that point, but an overview of the at&t wireless (company is owned by cingular now, but the name reverts back to at&t), cingular (owns at&t wireless now, but not the name; see previous), sbc (owns 60% of cingular, in talks to merge w at&t), and at&t (diff company from the wireless one, in talks w sbc to merge, apparently still thinking of relaunching a wireless service under the name at&t wireless but w service provided by sprint) dance is, well, soap-opera-esque.
