this is only part of the puzzle, but been looking at ways to put a company directory into an ldap server so that os x addressbook-using users could search for it and address email using it. this hint on creating LDAP address book entries to share is a start. i still need a simple (ideally non os x server) ldap server solution and this doesn't seem like the most user-friendly solution, but it's a part.
