hm. i feel like i should be offended at the blatant unfairness inherent in bribing restaurants for a table, but it seems almost more like some sort of rule of nature exposed. maybe because i know there isn't anything fair or open about the table allocation anyway. the link came from kottke, btw.

Evan [ 04/11/2004 22:37]: I was just looking at your silversmithing store site. The casting of a key must be of a real key that fits something in this world. There's a slight chance that ownership of the key confers rights to the contents of a room somewhere or at least the space somewhere. Odds of finding it are slim but are thousands of times better than playing the lottery. Having learned all about the lottery by watching the poor people play it on my block, let me say that I would like to invest 1600 dollars to buy 400 of those silver keys, at 40 dollars each. The cost-benefit ratio has a good chance of being better than playing the lotto.
