this FlipStart thingy is one of those much ballyhooed transmeta-based portables we heard so much about last year. i must admit that i'm i bit numbed to the whole half full-on computer, half handheld thing. and then there is the super-crazy hi-res screen : "FlipStart's stunning 5.6in, 1024x600 high-resolution display means. . . you can view any Web site as it was meant to be viewed." ok, for reference, a 12in ibook has a 1024x768 12.1in screen, so this this is physically half the diag dimension but the same pixel count wide and very nearly the same high. um. so normal text will be half the size you're used too. imagine reading this page. now imagine reading this page with super tiny, small, too small type (yeah, like half this size again). ah, now that is how a web page is meant to be viewed.
