going to see colin's scratch's last lament next weekend: "Paris, 18 May 1945: V-E Day. Lead by the United States, the Allies have finally routed the Axis Powers, France has been liberated and Berlin taken. After so many terrible years, the war in Europe is finally over and the streets of Paris are thronged with jubilllent [sic] crowds while American G.I.'s swagger through the city like triumpant victors. Amidst this backdrop, Death and the Devil, Old Scratch himself, meet for dinner in the City of Lights, along the Rue de Bac. Over a meal consisting of mostly wine and cigarettes, Death and Scratch discuss the war and their jobs, all of it leading up to a proposal from Scratch that could change the way both of them perceive the world."
