congress is looking good on a compelling spam bill. now this anti-spam approach makes sense to me (why it was illegal to use false headers on faxes but not email always perplexed me): "The Senate Commerce Committee unanimously approved a bill to make it illegal for anyone to use fraudulent or deceptive return e-mail addresses, fake e-mail headers or use false subject lines. The bill would allow marketers to send an initial unsolicited e-mail message, but require that the message contain a clear way for consumers to opt out of receiving further messages."
