From all of the compelling, amusing, bizarre, and unquestionably creative applications, our team has, through intense meetings, discussions, and some heated arguments narrowed the list down to six intriguing finalists. These final few will be evaluated by our great panelists: Martin Bone, Stefan Boublil, Andrew Capelli, Ann Harakawa, Mark Naden, Douglas Riccardi, and Judy Wert. Our 2008 Stipend recipient will be announced on Wednesday, August 13th.

Through the medium of the "dying" Polariod, my friend and I have been taking portraits of people as they are answering the question, "What do you want to do before you die?"

An electric-assist art pedicab for the streets of New York City, to raise awareness of pedicabs as a viable transportation alternative.

Cracker Jackies
A biting satire about a group of workers at a fictional fast-food restaurant who are assassinated by their company for trying to unionize.

Autopilot
A 35mm short film about internet videos, pubescent boys, and their fathers.

Urban Forest
A series of large-scale paintings about nature in Brooklyn.
